Strange sequence of events between the Texans and the Eagles, and it ended with a scary injury.
Ryan Fitzpatrick makes an absolutely terrible decision to throw this ball essentially right to DeMeco Ryans... but as he started to run, something went wrong. Ryans fell to the ground in pain, and he put his hand to the ground to break his fall. That hand happened to be holding a ball, which popped loose. You often hear that the ground can't cause a fumble, but this isn't true if the player hasn't been touched, so this ball was live, and eventually recovered by Texans receiver DeAndre Hopkins.
After the football stuff got sorted out, it became clear Ryans' injury was serious. Both Ryans' Philadelphia teammates and his Texans teammates gathered together to support him as he got onto the cart, and the Houston crowd cheered for the linebacker who played six years for the Texans:
The Texans would go onto score on the play to make this a three-point game.
