Tony Romo injury update: Cowboys QB probable; should start for fantasy owners

Romo is officially probable with a back injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is officially listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Romo has two small fractures in his back, an injury he sustained against Washington in Week 8. He left that game after taking four sacks, but returned for the final two minutes of the game and overtime. That said, Romo did wind up missing the team's next game.

Dallas lost both of those games, falling to the Arizona Cardinals, 28-17. Brandon Weeden started that game and did not play well, throwing for just 183 yards with a pair of interceptions. Romo was sorely needed, and has been a limited participant all week. That said, the Cowboys have been adamant that Romo is going to play in this game.

Fantasy Impact: It's surprising that Romo carries the probable designation. But it's good news regardless, as it's supposed to denote a 75-percent chance of playing. That said, Romo is going to start and he's worth playing in fantasy leagues against a poor Jaguars team. Dallas and Jacksonville are playing in London this week and have one of the early games if fantasy owners need to be assured of Romo's status.
