Cecil Shorts injury update: Jaguars WR probable; minimal fantasy value

Shorts is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys. We break down the fantasy implications.

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Cecil Shorts is officially listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys. Shorts is dealing with a hamstring injury that's been off and on for much of the season. Specifically, he tweaked the hamstring on Wednesday and missed practice on Thursday. He did return to practice on Friday and now with the probably designation, he's expected to play.

Shorts came into this season with a lot of hype and as Jacksonville's top receiver. He's fallen short of all expectations though, and is third on the team with 28 receptions for 256 yards and a touchdown. He's firmly behind Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson in that regard, though is is still one of the starters alongside Hurns.

Fantasy Impact: The hamstring injury is bothersome and Shorts likely won't be at 100 percent, but he'll definitely play. Fantasy owners can start him with that knowledge, but he's honestly not a great fantasy option at this point in the season. He's not a safe bet to put up any numbers at all, let alone big ones, and there's simply better options out there.
