Horford hurt his finger but only missed a few minutes of action.
Atlanta Hawks big man Al Horford suffered a dislocated right pinkie finger in the second half of the team's opening playoff game against the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday night, the team announced. He briefly left the game to have the injured finger taped up but returned soon afterwards.
Horford has been one of Atlanta's best players all season and recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds before getting hurt. He's been a huge part of the team's emergence as a heavy hitter in the Eastern Conference and would've been a major loss to the No. 1 seed.
The injury occurred when Horford was battling on the boards with Brooklyn's Brook Lopez. He looked to be in discomfort afterwards but fought through it to return to action.
Horford earned his third All-Star selection as a member of the Hawks this season. He averaged 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists in 76 games, his most since the 2010-11 season. He also shot 54 percent from the floor and 76 percent from the charity stripe.
