The Cardinals' running back isn't expected to practice all week and could miss more game action. We break down the fantasy implications.
Arizona Cardinals running back Andre Ellington (hip pointer) is considered to be a game-time decision for the team's Week 14 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs according to Alex Marvez of FoxSports1. Ellington carried the ball 5 times for just 12 yards before exiting last week's game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Fantasy Impact: although Ellington hasn't managed to eclipse 100 yards rushing in a game this season, he has been an impact player in the fantasy world in leagues that reward receptions. He is the most consistent player on the team's offense, so his absence from Sunday's game against the Chiefs surely won't go unnoticed.
That said, Ellington hasn't had more than 42 yards rushing since way back in Week 9, so even when he has produced catching passes out of the backfield, it's not as if he singlehandedly wins fantasy matchups for his owners.
If Ellington can't go in Week 14, Marion Grice will likely start in place of him. Grice has 11 carries for 29 yards and a touchdown this year.
