The Timberwolves' point guard twisted his foot after an awkward landing on a drive.
Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio was forced to leave the team's game against the Orlando Magic after landing awkwardly on his left foot on a drive to the basket. Two Timberwolves helped him off the court after he stayed on the ground. He will not return to the game.
Ricky Rubio will not return to tonight's game after spraining his left ankle in the 2nd quarter. He will be reevaluated tomorrow. #Twolves

Rubio saw a lane to the basket and attacked it, but appeared to twist his left foot as he planted to go up for the layup. He crashed into Willie Green and immediately called for the trainer. Coach Flip Saunders and the team's trainer came to tend to him and two teammates had to bring him off the court.
Rubio and the Timberwolves are off to a strong start since he signed a four-year, $56 million extension on the eve of the Oct. 31 deadline. Any serious injury would obviously devastate Minnesota's early positive momentum. We'll keep you posted with more information as it becomes available.
