Nick Foles doesn't need surgery on his fractured collarbone and the Eagles reportedly hope to have him back in six weeks. We break down the fantasy implications.
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles has a fractured clavicle, the team confirmed on Monday. He doesn't have a clear timetable for a return, but FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo reports that he would not need surgery and the Eagles are hoping he come back in six weeks.
Foles was forced out of Sunday's win over the Houston Texans with the broken collarbone. Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a similar injury last season that kept him out for seven weeks. A six-week timeline would but Foles on track to return around Week 15. Mark Sanchez will be the starter in his absence.
Fantasy impact: Even the optimistic six-week projection would make Foles unavailable for most of the fantasy playoffs. It's more likely that he won't be back until the Eagles' real-life playoffs, making him free to drop in most re-draft leagues. Sanchez, despite the reputation, acquitted himself well in relief duty and could keep Chip Kelly's offense humming along. Sanchez is worth an add in all 12-team leagues and has legitimate QB2 value against the Carolina Panthers defense in Week 10.
