NHL schedule 2014: Ekblad returns to Philadelphia, Blues look for 7 in a row

2014 first overall pick Aaron Ekblad returns to the city he was drafted in. Elsewhere, St. Louis looks to knock off New Jersey to keep their winning streak alive and the Penguins hope to make it six in a row as they face the Jets.

While most of the NHL had the day off on Wednesday, that won't be the case on Thursday with 10 games make for a full night of hockey. Of the 10 games, six will feature teams with at least 14 points, headlined by the matchup in Tampa between the Lighting and Calgary Flames.

Both teams will enter the game tied for second in their respective conference. The Lightning are 8-3-1 on the season and have been excellent at home, racking up a 5-1-1 record on home ice. Calgary, however, has been terrific on the road this season with a 6-2-0 ark away from home. Both teams will enter the game riding three-game winning streaks. All of the components add up to what should be a terrific matchup.

While the game in Tampa may headline the schedule, it's not the only intriguing matchup. The Pittsburgh Penguins -- who sit atop the Metropolitan division -- will go on the road to face the Winnipeg Jets, winners of three straight. Pittsburgh has been even better recently, winning five straight while racking up a NHL-best plus-22 goal differential. in the West, Pacific division foes Vancouver and San Jose will face off, both still chasing the Anaheim Ducks in the division.

Here is a complete look a the NHL schedule on Thursday and the coverage for each game. In addition to the television coverage, viewers can watch and follow the games online with coverage from NHL GameCenter Live and NHL Center Ice.
