Montee Ball won't suit up against the Oakland Raiders. We take a look at the fantasy implications.
Even though Montee Ball had a promising week of practice, it appears as though he won't be playing on Sunday. Ball is still dealing with a groin injury that has kept him sidelined for over a month now. Ronnie Hillman will continue to be the featured back for the Denver Broncos. He's handled the job well, totaling 299 rushing yards and four total touchdowns in Ball's absence. The Oakland Raiders are giving up a lot of production to opposing running backs, which of course bodes well for Hillman on Sunday.
Fantasy impact: It's another week of bad news for Ball owners. The silver lining in all of this is the fact that Ball has impressed coaches in practice and appears to be in great shape after losing some weight during his time off the field. Of course, there should be a timeshare when Ball returns. Hillman has shown he deserves a bigger workload for the remainder of the season. It will be a situation worth monitoring. Hillman and Ball owners may see how the timeshare plays out when the Broncos face the San Francisco 49ers in Week 11.
