Fayne is lucky he only got a cut from the play.

NHL defensemen expect to block shots from time to time, but Edmonton Oilers blueliner Mark Fayne was not prepared to take a hard shot from Luke Schenn in the face. The shot from the Philadelphia Flyers defenseman appeared to catch Fayne right under his visor.

Fayne somehow remained in the game, but not without a big cut right above his lip. Ah, the perils of hockey.
