Arian Foster considered 'day to day,' Week 11 fantasy status unclear

It doesn't appear that Arian Foster's groin injury is serious, but the Texans aren't tipping their hand with the bye week coming up. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Houston Texans didn't have any solid update on the health of running back Arian Foster. Speaking to the media on Monday, head coach Bill O'Brien only called Foster "day to day."

Foster was forced out of Sunday's Week 9 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles with a groin injury. He appeared to hurt his groin on a non-contact play and was seen slamming his helmet on the sidelines in frustration. Foster was on his way to another monster game before the injury, recording 119 total yards and a touchdown on 17 touches. Rookie Alfred Blue finished the game.

Fantasy impact: Reports after the game say there is "pessimism" around Foster's injury. He is heading for an MRI this week. Even with the Texans on bye next Sunday, Foster isn't a sure thing to return in Week 11 against the Cleveland Browns. Fantasy owners should either already have Blue on their roster or make a strong effort to acquire him. Foster is still one of the best fantasy running backs when healthy, but his heavy workload has frequently caught up to him in recent years.
