Super Bowl 2015 prop bet: Brandon LaFell scores the 1st touchdown

Brandon LaFell has scored the first touchdown of Super Bowl 49.

Brandon LaFell became the first player to score in Super Bowl 49 after finding the end zone on a quick slant pass from Tom Brady. With the score, another of the big Super Bowl prop bets is put to rest. Each year, there are a slew of prop bets surrounding the game, from the national anthem to the coin toss to this one: which player scores first.

If you happened to be among those who took the 125/1 odds on there not being a touchdown scored all game, then you're out of luck. That was always a longshot bet, more so than third-string tight ends and fullbacks getting the touchdown.

Prior to the game, the worst odds for scoring the first touchdown were shared by Seattle fullback Will Tukuafu , Seattle running back Christine Michael , New England tight end Michael Hoomanawanui and New England fullback James Develin at 50/1 odds.

The most likely player to score the first touchdown was Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch , at 11/2 odds. The top five players were Lynch, Rob Gronkowski (13/2), LeGarrette Blount (9/1), Julian Edelman (10/1) and then a three-player tie at 12/1 with Lafell, Doug Baldwin and Russell Wilson .
