They're now the single-season rushing and receiving touchdowns leaders.
In a span of just two plays, DeMarco Murray and Dez Bryant set Dallas Cowboys' franchise records. Murray passed Emmitt Smith as the single-season rushing leader and Bryant passed Terrell Owens for the most touchdown receptions in a season.
Midway through the first quarter against Washington, Murray busted loose for a 32-yard dash, moving him past the 1,773 yards Smith tallied in 1995. Murray, who came into the game leading the NFL in rushing yards, has put himself into the MVP discussion with a prolific 2014 season.
On the next snap, Tony Romo found a diving Bryant along the sideline in the end zone. Initially ruled incomplete, the play was changed to a touchdown after video replay, giving Bryant 16 scoring grabs this season.
Bryant came into the game two touchdown receptions behind the 15 Owens put up in 2007. He tied that with a 65-yard catch-and-run on Dallas' second possession of the game.
Owens offered up his congratulations on Twitter:
Form one Beast to another! Congrats to @DemarcoMurray & @DezBryant!! #Cowboys #CowboysNation #whatTOdo ... http://t.co/MnyxpvFbef

Smith released the following statement minutes after Murray broke his record:
"I couldn't be happier for him. He is very deserving of this recognition. This is something that I know DeMarco will share with the whole team, because he knows that they all had a hand in his success.
"I am proud of him because I know how hard it is to do what he did this year. I am also proud because I've watched him bounce back from some injury setbacks in his first few years. He's worked through all that, and he deserves to have this record. I want him and the whole team to keep up this level of play and carry it into the playoffs."
