Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig celebrated a World Series win by dressing as cowboys

From the intersection of Halloween, World Series and old timey photos, here's Babe Ruth celebrating the Yankees 1928 World Series win by dressing as a cowboy and riding a jeep dressed like a steer. That cowboy fella alongside the jeep is Lou Gehrig.

Taking a trip into the rabbit hole of one hundred year old sports photos is a fun way to spend the day. I highly recommend it. Here are a few more awesome World Series photos.

Senators pitcher Nick Altrock and third-base coach Al Schach lead the band onto the field in Griffith Stadium, Washington, D.C., before the first game of the 1924 World Series on October 4.

The 1917 World Series umpiring crew poses in the Polo Grounds in early October before the start of a game. Those hats. That megaphone. That one official who missed the shirt and tie memo.
