Marshawn Lynch was a late addition to the injury report and did not practice with a calf issue. We break down the fantasy implications.
Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch was held out of practice Thursday. He is listed on the injury report with a calf issue.
Lynch typically sits out Wednesday practices for non-injury rest and comes back on Thursdays, so this new injury is something worth monitoring. He's still expected to be ready for Sunday's game against the New York Giants. Through eight games, Lynch has 549 rushing yards and five touchdowns, adding 22 catches for 223 yards and three additional scores. Lynch had his third multi-touchdown game in Week 9 against the Oakland Raiders, recording 143 total yards on 26 touches.
Fantasy impact: The calf injury likely isn't something serious and we wouldn't expect Lynch to miss his first game since 2011. Friday's injury report will give us a better clue as to his status. The 28-year-old is mostly playing like his usual self, although he's been oddly under-utilized by offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell. Regardless, Lynch should be an RB1 and starting in all fantasy leagues as long as he's active.
